This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending the Three Stripes Tour as it made its way into NYC courtesy of EOne & Huff PR. The anticipate tour rolled its way into The Kings Theater in Brooklyn , so of course it immediately sold out. The show opener was NYC’s own SWV who kicked the night off with one hell of a set list. The “Sisters With Voices” made sure to turn NYC out as only they could being home as they performed hit after hit including some of their fan favorites like ” Im So Into You ” , ” Right Here ” , ” You’re The One ” , ” Rain ” , “Anything” & of course the iconic anthem” Weak ” . The girls (Coko, LeLee & Taj) who celebrate 25 years in the business proved that their star just continues to shine brighter & brighter.

Up next was the Funky Divas themselves En Vogue who made it clear that through their groups changes over the years , they are simply here to stay. The trio which consist of Cindy , Terry & Rhona cranked out some of their timeless classics like ” Free Your Mind ” , Never Gonna Get ” , ” Don’t Let Go ” , ” Giving Him Something He Can Feel “ & their anthem “Hold On” which had every female in the audience singing along as if it was their own song. If that wasn’t enough they gave a tribute to some of their influences from the 70s with a special medley which would make every soul singer who came before them proud.

Last but not least was the legendary BBD aka Bell Biv Devoe who tore the house down as ladies screamed their hearts out. The trio Ronnie , Rickey & Mike who rose to fame started over 30 years ago with New Edition proved that they can still rock a house all on their own. With the release of their new album ” Three Stripes ” via EOne it only makes sense that they closed out the show promoting their latest release. The crowd was all here for their latest singles “Run ” & “Finally” which was a treat to see them perform with SWV but the audience definitely came to see them rock out to some of their classics as well. BBD kicked off the show with ” Do Me Baby ” which had everyone on their feet and the crowed couldn’t contain themselves as they gave a special medley of their New Edition classics ” Telephone Man ” , ” Candy Girl ” & ” Cool It Now ” . Now if that wasn’t enough they slowed things down with their soulful hit the ” When Will I See You Smile Again “ that had everyone singing along word for word before they closed out the show with their classic anthem “Poison”. This past year has seen these men triumph with their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and their groundbreaking BET biopic ” The New Edition Story ” which only set things in motion for bigger things to come. If you didn’t have a chance to experience what we did then you most definitely missed out but if the tour is coming to your city I promise you this is one show you don’t want to miss. If you’re in the NYC area they will be back this July at NJPac so don’t hesitate to cop them tickets. Peep some exclusive footage for a limited time via our site below just to see exactly what we meant by it being one of the best shows we’ve seen hands down.

Special thanks to EOne & Huff PR once again for having us as always.
