Last night some of music’s biggest stars took over NYC at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden for the second night of The Millennium Tour. The highly anticipated event put together by G Squared Events sold out in hours last year when the show was announced and trust me after what we witness, we truly see why. The big tour which reunites r&b super-group B2K along with Pretty Ricky , Mario , Lloyd , Ying Yang Twins , Bobby V & Chingy was jam packed with fans , celebrity guest & media as we all were in anticipation to see one of the most talked about shows of the season. Rap star Chingy kicked off the show performing a medley of his hits including his hit singles ‘I Like That’ , ‘Baller Baby’ , ‘One Call A Way’ & ‘Right Thurr’ which set the night off for what was clearly going be a long night of partying. Up next was r&b crooner Bobby V who was surprise to some of us on the lineup but a pleasant one for sure. He knocked out some of his fan favorite hits like ‘Tell Me’ , ‘Turn The Page’ , ‘Anonymous’ , ‘Pimpin All Over The World’ , ‘Slow Down’ & ‘Mrs Officer’ which kept the party going.

Up Next was r&b heartthrob Lloyd who hit the stage with his smooth charm as fans sang along & screamed every word to some of his classic tracks like ‘Bedrock’ , ‘You’ , ‘Caramel’ , ‘Tru’ , ‘Lay It Down’ & ‘Get It Shawty’. Now if that wasn’t enough the Atlanta native had a surprise up his sleeve as he brought out his former Murder Inc label mate superstar Ashanti to perform their duet “Southside”. Honestly the show was getting better and better and trust me when i say that Ying Yang Twins took that place up to another level as soon as they touched the stage. The rap duo took over the crowd who sang & danced along to every song like they were in the club with the fellas as they cranked out some of their hits like ‘Get Low’ , ‘Whistle While You Twurk’ , ‘Ms New Booty’ , ‘Salt Shaker’ & ‘The Whisper Song’. Honestly the show could’ve ended there and the crowd would have been satisfied but what came next was more than i expected.

Rap/R&B group Pretty Ricky was the next on the lineup and trust me, the fellas hit the stage with a vengeance and set it on fire. The 4 fellas from Miami recently reunited and trust me their performance gave the ladies in the audience everything they needed and more. Now the show was clearly for the grown and sexy but these fellas took things to another level with their seductive/raunchy stage show as they were grinding and gyrating all over the stage to some of their fan favorite singles like ‘Grind With Me’ , ‘Juicy’ , ‘Your Body’ & of course their infamous track ‘On The Hotline’. If that wasn’t enough to set the night off right, R&B powerhouse Mario was ready to hit the stage and trust me the audience couldn’t wait. While during one of the brief intermissions the shows host would pass the mic around to the crowd to let fans sings and one thing was clearly evident. These fans loved them some Mario because the majority of them would start singing his songs in acapella before he even touched the stage. So it only made sense that i could barely hear him sing for the first couple of songs in his set because his fans were singing along note for note & word for word. Mario backed by two dancers and a band proved why he has staying power as he gave a stellar performance of some of his classics including ‘Just A Friend ‘ , ‘Come On’ , ‘Braid My Hair’ , ‘How Do I Breathe’ , ‘Break Up’ & ‘You Should Let Me Love You’ which was clearly all the ladies needed before the main event.

Well the moment arrived for what so many fans have been waiting to see and trust me B2K made sure to give the fans everything they wanted and more. After a 16 year hiatus their reunion on the stage was just what fans were expecting as Raz B , Omarion , Lil Fizz & J Boog hit the stage with their electrifying energy. The fellas backed by 2 female dancers , band and one of hell of a production team proved why they have been missed. The boy band hit the stage with full of energy as they sang and danced with full choreography to match in perfect synchronization. They kicked off the show with some of their classics like ‘Girlfriend’ , ‘Uh Huh’ , ‘Gots To Be’ & ‘What A Girl Wants’ which was only getting the crowd for so many more special moments. Now they couldn’t forget to perform their hit ‘BadaBoom’ before a special dance breakdown in honor of their iconic movie “You Got Served” which was the perfect set up for what was next to come. Omarion then took the stage to perform some of his classic solo records like ‘O’ , ‘Icebox’ , ‘Entourage’ & ‘Spose To Be’ which gave us all the nostalgic feels of why we became fans but it was a surprise appearance from dancer Danielle Polanco who joined on stage to recreate the iconic video ‘Touch’ that just had the fans going wild. Trust me when i say their show was everything we needed and more and of course they had to perform more of their classics but you just have to be there to see what we mean. Get your tickets if they’re not sold out already in your city via G Squared Events for the must see show of the year which is sure to sell out. Special thanks to Thara Thomas for having us always.

Last night we had the pleasure of watching British breakout superstar Jessie J take over NYC as she closed out her sold out R.O.S.E Tour held at Le Poisson Rouge. The intimate venue was jam packed with fans ,friends & media who have been waiting to see the sultry vocal powerhouse make her return to the stage after a brief absence. With a line wrapped around the block to see the shining star , it was clear that this show was the only place to be if you live in NYC. The soulful songstress hit the stage with a vengeance as if she hasn’t missed a beat and like the true performer that she is she gave us one hell of a show as she sang some of her fan favorite hits like ‘Who You Are’ , ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ , ‘ Mama Knows Best’ ,’Flashlight’ , ‘Masterpiece’ , ‘Thunder’ , ‘Price Tag’, ‘Bang Bang’ & ‘Do It Like A Dude’.

Now of course those songs were expected and she gave us everything we were waiting for but her performance of her new material was even more impressive. Jessie briefly told the crowd that she was stuck in a place of confusion and just didn’t want to perform or record any music but thankfully she met DJ Camper who helped inspire her to create again and what came from it , is truly brilliant. Jessie put her heart into records like ‘Real Deal’ , ‘Think About That’ & ‘Not My Ex’ which showed such growth in her already magnetic show which kept the fans wanting more. If this is any indication of whats to come on her anticipated third album ‘R.O.S.E’ then the world is in for one hell of a musical masterpiece. If your weren’t able to catch her this go around check out footage from the show which is only available for a limited time, but trust me after watching you wont ever miss out on a Jessie J show if she comes to your city.

Now you know over here on this end were very picky about what artist we get into, but this go around we couldn’t deny the talent of rising rap star Carlos Ferragamo. We personally have been following the Bronx NYC native for years and watched this lyricist grow into one hell of an underground artist. Now of course being that he’s from the boogie down it only makes sense that coming from the mecca of hip-hop he sights Nas, Jay-Z , LL Cool J , Notorious B.I.G , 2 Pac and Wu-Tang as some of his inspirations. With recent features on VIBE , All Hip Hop , WorldStar & more we clearly see why his star is slowly but surely rising. We got a chance to chop it up with the Unsigned Hype for an exclusive interview just as he releases his new EP ‘Shades of Blue 2.5 (Perfect Clarity)’ which will definitely have everyone talking as his buzz continues to grow. Get into the interview below then listen to his new album which is available for download via Itunes , Amazon & Bandcamp NOW.

Last night we once again had the privileged to attend Hot 97’s Summer Jam. The event held at the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey was packed with fans & media out for the biggest concert over the year. Now once again the day started early with jam packed performances at the Festival Stage which was also included during the live stream/broadcast bought to viewers at home by Tidal. This year some of our faves. Joey Badass, B.O.B & Dej Loaf helped kicked off the show but our standouts from the festival had to be NJ’s own Fetty Wap who has been taking over the airwaves with his hits ‘ Trap Queen ‘ & ‘ My Way ‘ . Now of course he had the crowd hype but Harlem’s own Teyana Taylor brought the stage down with her sassy set which gaves us a throw back to the 90s with her look & outfit and to top it off she brought out special guest Bad Boy’s TOTAL to add some spice to her set.

The Main show kicked off with r&b superstar Omarion who blazed some fan favorites including his latest single ‘Post To Be’ which got the crowd just right for the night. Ty Dolla $ign was up next and of course he got the crowd hyped with his set which featured special appearances from Dej Loaf & Wiz Khalifa who definitely shut the stage down. Superstar Trey Songz got the ladies out their seats and screaming during his set and the r&b crooner performed a medley of his hits backed by his band and female dancers and of course he took off his shirt closing out his show which only had the ladies screaming for more. Now if that wasnt enough the r&b section of the show was far from over because Chris Brown took the show to a whole other level with his energetic performance backed by his Dancers & BGV. Chris of course danced & sang his ass of to some our faves like ‘Love More ‘ Ayo ‘ , Poppin ‘ & ‘ Loyal ‘ but that wasn’t all he had in stores. Breezy decided to bring out special guest G-Unit ( 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks & Tony Yayo) which had the crowd going crazy only to then bring out French Montana. All of this was just a warm up for what was to come up next from rap star Fabolous.

Fab of course being from NYC had to make his show one to remember and trust me that’s exactly what he did. He kicked off his set bringing breezy back out to perform their single ‘ She Wildin ‘ but that was only the beginning of all star set. Fab took it back and brought out Bad Boy’s Black Rob to perform his classic hit ‘Whoa’ which of course gets the party hyped but just minutes later rap superstar Busta Rhymes appears on the stage performing one of his classic tracks ‘Put Your Hands Where My eyes Could See’ . Now that alone was fine but he brings back the remix to the classic MOP track ‘ Ante Up ‘ which led to Remy Ma blazing the stage with her voice from the song. Now the rap diva couldn’t just hit the stage without performing her classic track ‘Lean Back’ alongside Fat Joe who surprised the audience. The audience couldn’t get enough but there was more to come. Method Man & Redman hit the stage to perform the party starter track ‘ Da Rockwilder ‘ before Meth’s Wu-Tang partner Raekwon came out to perform the classic ‘ Ice Cream ‘ . The crowd just got more amped when queens own Mobb Deep hit the stage to perform ‘ Shook Ones ‘ but when Quiet Storm came on it was a wrap. Just when we thought they were done they brought out the Queen Bee Lil Kim who killed her verse before going into her first hit single ‘ Get Money ‘ . If you thought it was done well it wasn’t because she then brought out her Bad Boy fam The Lox who crushed the stage with a medley of their hits before Bad Boy’s own MA$E rushed the stage and dominated with some of his classics. Although the show was far from over it was clear Fab did not come to play this year with the best performance of the night.

Kendrick Lamar one of today’s biggest music stars brought Compton to NJ with his killer set of his fan favorite hits with special guest SZA & Schoolboy Q which just continued to proved why everyone loves him so much . Detroit’s own Big Sean was up next with and of course his set was jam packed with hits including our faves like ‘ My Last ‘ , ‘ Thats The Shit I Dont Like ‘ , ‘ Blessed ‘ & ‘ IDFWU ‘. The shows closer was Philly’s own Meek Mill who kicked of his show loud as always and brought out a few special guest including Future who had to rock the crowd with some of his hits including his latest hit single ‘ Fuck Up Some Commas‘ . Now we know that couldn’t of been all because minutes later his boo Rap Queen Nicki Minaj took the stage to perform some of her latest hits like ‘ Only ‘ and ‘ Truffle Butter ‘ . Meek def held his own which was a great way to close the night but the night clearly wasn’t over. Hot 97 decided to bring out New Jerseys own Fetty Wap once again but this time on the Main stage to rock the crowd with his hit singles. Now if you weren’t there than you should’ve been watching the live stream via Tidal . But if you didn’t catch it then for a limited time we have pics & video from the big must see event below. Trust me after watching you will see why this is the only concert to be at every year.

St Maarten a small island which is split into 2 sides from the French & Dutch and only consist of 75,000 in population seems so small when your read about it but once your there the experience is larger than life. The Divi Little Bay Resort has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed on an island. Not only was the decor beautiful on the outside but the rooms were perfectly designed for comfort. We were welcomed with gifts just about everyday but what really stood out was the staff who were just as pleasant.

The food at the resort was delightful but the amenities is what took the cake. The beach alone was relaxing but the infinity pool and jacuzzi’s were to die for . Now if that wasn’t enough we had access to the Gym, Jet Ski’s and my favorite the Spa. Indulgence by The Sea is a must have if you make your way to their resort , trust me you won’t regret it. Mark my words whenever I do have the chance to come back to the island , I promise you there is nowhere else better to say.

Each day on the island we had the pleasure of dining at different restaurants courtesy of the tourism board which we wee eternally grateful for. Some of my favorite spots to eat included Taloula Mango , Cheri’s Cafe , Hollands House & Rancho Restaurant. Now I can be the pickiest eater in the world but they all had menus which were easy to choose from which included American , Mexican , Italian & Sea Food Dishes prepared to anyone’s liking . Now I must say the two that stood out had to be Taloula Mango because not only was the food great but the ambiance was beautiful with the beach just in walking distance from our table . Cheri Cafe on the other hand had some of the funniest yet entertaining host I have ever come across. That restaurant is a must as soon as you step into the island.

If that wasn’t enough, Janelle of the Tourism board made sure we had a chance to see so much of what the island had to offer and for that I can’t thank her enough. We had a chance to enjoy a visit at the Loterie Farm where we not only had lunch but we had the option to go Zip Lining , Hiking or to enjoy the beautiful pool which I most definitely did. The ambiance alone will take your breath away but just being there is an experience in itself. I recommend anyone to go there just to relax or have fun.

Before coming here I never heard of a Water UFO but that didn’t stop me from trying it out . The UFO stands for Unbelievably Fun Object and thats exactly what it was. You can either go alone or with a partner/instructor on the craft which can only be steered by your body motion. Now it might take some work but trust me it’s well worth it. Only in St Maarten is this available , because it the first of its kind so best believe if you make it over there stop in Phillipsburg for an unforgettable experience.

During the trip we were lucky enough to visit the market place where different vendors sold clothing, art, food and other assortments but some of the best places we got to visit were the Guavaberry Emporium , St Maarten Nectar & Toppers Rhum warehouse. The reason why i say this is not only because we were able to take home some freebies (gifts) but we had the chance to see some of the islands more popular companies. The Guavaberry Emporium had an endless amount of product to indulge in from the Rums, Liquors, honey, hot sauces & more. St Maarten Nectar smelled like heaven as soon as you walked in its doors and the natural products which range from soap, oils, lotion, shaving cream , candles & more are a must have for any trip on the island. We had to bring some home especially after getting a chance to speak with the owner and her small team of 6 who make the magic happen. Last but not least was the Toppers Rhum warehouse where we got to see how one of the popular drinks on the island came to be and how the factory works on a day to day bases. We not only got to look around but we got a chance to taste test some possible new flavors that might hit the marker soon. Check out some of my audio clips from talking with the owners about their companies as they shared with us the process of getting their product out onto the market.

I honestly cant express how incredible of a trip this was and how thankful i am to The Tourism board for having me. I think words can only explain but so much of the trip so i had to include pics and video of this experience. Once you watch i guarantee you will want to make your way out here for carnival. i will gladly recommend this trip to anyone in a heartbeat, so until next time heck out what really went down in one of my favorite islands St Maarten below.

Last night we had the pleasure of seeing actor/singer Chestor Gregory live in action as he gave a stellar performance in the Broadway adaption of the hit movie Sister Act. The show starring Raven Symone kicked off with a bang at the Broadway Theater with show stopping performances from Ms Symone as (Deloris) and the nuns , but what had the audience in awe was Chestor’s stellar breakout song If I Could Be That Guy as Officer Eddie showcase his charm, charisma & passion for Deloris. Some of us were quick to give him a standing ovation but of course this is Broadway and we would have to save our cheer till the end.

20130225-124437.jpg

Now it was clear to see that Raven was brought into the show to raise ticket sales but even with all her star power her co star Chestor is clearly one to watch. The vocal powerhouse has performed in Dreamgirls & Shrek on Tour which explains why he shined in this upbeat comedy. Chestor who has made a name for himself as a soul singer clearly knows how to transform once on stage and dive right into character which only means that after this show closes we guarantee another show will be wanting to snatch him right up. Take out word for it and make sure you see Sister Act on Broadway before it closes by purchasing tickets HERE.
