Rising star Julian King is no stranger to the stage after making a name for himself on the hit NBC competition series ‘The Voice‘. But now he’s ready to really shine with the release of his new video for his single ‘Can We Go Back‘. The Philly native always had a passion for music growing up as he sang in church, but oddly enough he actually wanted to be a veterinarian. Thankfully that all changed when he decided to perform in a school musical in the 8th grade. This led to him attending the prestigious Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts which is notable for their famous alumni including Boyz II Men, Jazmine Sullivan , Leslie Odom Jr, Questlove, Groove Theory (Amel Larrieux & Bryce Wilson) and Brett Gray.

It was at CAPA where the triple threat really grew as a performer which led to him attending Philadelphia University of the Arts, where he graduated with a BA in Vocal Performance. Now of course he studied some of the greats like Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion, but it was also new comers at the time like Coldplay, Kierra Sheard and Kevin Michael who truly inspired him to make his own music. Julian would go on to performing with different artist and creatives which eventually gave him the opportunity to move overseas to China where he could share his gift internationally. Upon returning he immediately hit the ground running appearing on season 16 of ‘The Voice‘ where he shined as a performer and the world began to open for the soulful singer who was truly just starting to make his mark.

Within no time Julian took advantage of his new found fame and instantly went to work hitting the stage to put together his buzz worthy projects ‘‘Made In China‘ in 2019 and ‘Takeout‘ in 2020 which truly made some noise. Now where most artist would let something like the pandemic slow down their movement, this rising star decided to take things a step further and perform and release visuals and he continued to grow his fanbase. Julian decided to go in with producers Robert ‘Biz’ Thomas & Dirty Harry to work on the track ‘Can We Go Back‘ with his Co-Writer Terrell “Tre” Roper. The heartfelt song which depicts a love gone wrong was something he truly experienced during quarantine which is reflected in the must see emotional performance clip below. Check out the video which is just a taste of what’s to come from the r&b crooner who is gearing up to release his latest project later this year.
