Reggae star Buju Banton has been convicted on drug charges stemming from an arrest in 2009 and now will have to serve 10 yrs out of the 15 he was facing in Prison. Buju was found guilty on conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and using a telephone to facilitate a drug trafficking offense. Though the Judge recieved tons of letters pleading for the reggae stars leniencey, it didnt really help much being that once he’s released Buju will then have to be on probation for 5yrs.
