Every once in awhile we come across an artist who just takes our breath away and this time were for sure you will be too. Now it should come as no surprise to anyone why we chose to feature singer/songwriter Brandon Pain , but if it is to you then we’ll fill u right on in. The Philly native who has made some waves over the last few years as one of the finest to come out of the city of Brotherly Love has been noticeably quiet but now hes back and better than ever. If he looks familiar to you , then it might be because he was 1/4 of the soulful r&b group Mprynt. For years we watched Brandon shine alongside his former group members as they performed all over , and after the release of their project in 2015 we were expecting to see him everywhere , but then things got a little quiet. Now although we don’t have all the details as to why things didn’t work out with the guys over at Motown Records, one thing that was clear to me was that this man was destined to be a star. Growing up Brandon knew the meaning of hard work , dedication & sacrifice as his father faithfully had him practice his craft as a musician which led him to attend the infamous CAPA (Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts). Now although he was an instrumental music major , his gift of singing would surely take him places just like other famous alumni from the school including Boyz II Men , Black Thought , Jazmine Sullivan & Leslie Odom Jr.

Over time after graduating college , Brandon finally decided to pursue a career in music which led to him becoming apart of the r&b quartet which gave him the chance to really showcase his gift for singing , songwriting and arranging music. Now like some of his biggest musical influences including The Winans , Prince , Bilal , D’angelo , Kim Burell and Tonex , it was clear that Brandon was more than just an ordinary singer who could really take the music industry by storm as a triple threat. Within time Brandon began to create music with some of the best in the business spending countless hours working alongside Jimmy Jam , Terry Lewis , Babyface , Ne-Yo , Johnta Austin , Chuck Harmony , Sevyn , Rico Love , Eric Bellinger , Ty Dolla $ign , Marsha Ambrosius , Eric Bellinger , Harold Lilly & more. With a resume like that , one would think that superstardom & fame was immediate to follow but things aren’t always that easy. With time it was clear that Brandon might have to take a break from the group dynamic to figure out what was best for him on this journey.

Now fast forward to 2020 while in the midst of a pandemic , the charismatic singer/songwriter decided to come out of hiding with new music after taking a short break. I’ve always noticed that some of our biggest blessing comes to us when we least expect it and this time that remains to be true with the release of his latest single ‘I.J.W.B.H’ . The heartfelt track was the perfect record for Brandon to release during such an heavy time in the world , where most are just in need of a release. The heartfelt song speaks of someone who is ready to let go of all things that doesn’t serve them just to find peace and happiness. Now I don’t know about you but who doesn’t just want to be happy? It’s songs like this that gives us hope that real music & artistry is still here and what’s crazy about this is that Brandon quietly held onto this song for awhile. But see the great thing about great artist is that their music is timeless and can be released at any time and still resonate. So with that being said , get into his new single and let the healing begin as he gives us just a taste of what’s to come from his highly anticipated solo debut. Now don’t just watch the video but purchase the song via all streaming outlets available HERE.

Now if that wasn’t enough for u, Brandon & his Painkillers have decided to give us just a little more of what we’ve been missing with the release of his ‘Intimate Sessions’. Get into his soul stirring acoustic performances below and subscribe for more to come.
