Last night we had the pleasure of attending 4x Grammy Award winning powerhouse Lalah Hathaway’s sold out concert at the legendary Highline Ballroom , and from the beginning of the show we clearly knew why she packed the house out. The soulful singer kicked off her set with her latest single ‘Honestly’ which is also the title of her new album that she celebrated all night throughout her show. Lalah performed some of her new cuts like ‘ I Can’t Wait’ and ‘Mirror’ but what constantly makes her win over the crowd is her incredible covers of classics like ‘Summertime’ , ‘Angel’ & ‘Rapture’. Ms Hathaway is a true musician who uses her voice as an instrument to captivate every listener as she sings effortlessly into the mic. But just when we thought we had enough she performs her fan favorite hit ‘Forever, For Always , For Love’ which brought the house down and as fans thought the show was over her encore performance of ‘Something’ was simply breathtaking. Now as the daughter of the late & great icon Donny Hathaway, its sometimes scary to see & hear his influence on her through her vocal performance but that’s what makes her great because she still knows how to stand out on her own. Please do yourself a favor and see this women in concert if you haven’t already, i promise you its one show you wont regret. If you missed out on last nights show, check out exclusive footage for a limited time below.
