Last night we had the pleasure of coming out to the legendary Highline Ballroom in NYC to catch British soul singer Daley as he kicked off the first week of his Spectrum Tour in support of his new album. The big night kicked off with rising star musician/singer Kenneth Whalum who has finally stepped out on his own with his debut album ‘Broken Land’. Kenneth who is mostly known for working some of music’s biggest stars including Jay-Z , Maxwell & Frank Ocean took the stage with confidence like a seasoned pro as he performed some of his new tracks which set the tone for the night and left the crowd ready for more. Up next was soulful songstress Tiffany Gouche who was a breath of fresh air. The California native commanded the stage with her powerhouse vocals which took the audience’s breath away as she sang every song with conviction effortlessly. Though i knew of the singer/songwriter it was clear many in the crowd had no clue who she was but within minutes she won everyone over and instantly it was clear why Daley brought her along for the ride.

Now it was time for what everyone was waiting for and Daley kicked off his set with a neon rainbow backdrop, whole holding a matching colorful umbrella which clearly was a sign of one hell of show was about to take place. Daley took the stage and performed some of his fan favorite hits including ‘Time Travel’ ,’Selfish’ , ‘Until The Pain Is Gone’ , ‘Remember Me’ , ‘Slow Burn‘ & more but was stood out to me was the arrangements in his show. Daley would perform one of his own records which would turn into a medley of some r&b classics like SWV’s ‘Weak’ , Jon B’s ‘ They Don’t Know ‘ & Joe’s ‘I Wanna Know’ which proved just why we love his voice. The soulful powerhouse sang his heart out as fans sang along to just about every word and just when we thought we couldn’t get enough he performed his classic single ‘Alone Together’ which floored everyone in the building. Daley’s show was just a glimpse into why his star continues to shine and if you were then you know exactly what i meant. With albums like ‘Days+Nights’ & ‘The Spectrum’ its clear why this man is here to stay. Check out a few clips via Instagram to see exactly what i mean and if the show is coming to your city, trust me its a show you don’t want to miss.
