Last night we once again had the privileged to attend Hot 97’s Summer Jam. The event held at the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey was packed with fans & media out for the biggest concert over the year. Now once again the day started early with jam packed performances at the Festival Stage which was also included during the live stream/broadcast bought to viewers at home by Tidal. This year some of our faves. Joey Badass, B.O.B & Dej Loaf helped kicked off the show but our standouts from the festival had to be NJ’s own Fetty Wap who has been taking over the airwaves with his hits ‘ Trap Queen ‘ & ‘ My Way ‘ . Now of course he had the crowd hype but Harlem’s own Teyana Taylor brought the stage down with her sassy set which gaves us a throw back to the 90s with her look & outfit and to top it off she brought out special guest Bad Boy’s TOTAL to add some spice to her set.

The Main show kicked off with r&b superstar Omarion who blazed some fan favorites including his latest single ‘Post To Be’ which got the crowd just right for the night. Ty Dolla $ign was up next and of course he got the crowd hyped with his set which featured special appearances from Dej Loaf & Wiz Khalifa who definitely shut the stage down. Superstar Trey Songz got the ladies out their seats and screaming during his set and the r&b crooner performed a medley of his hits backed by his band and female dancers and of course he took off his shirt closing out his show which only had the ladies screaming for more. Now if that wasnt enough the r&b section of the show was far from over because Chris Brown took the show to a whole other level with his energetic performance backed by his Dancers & BGV. Chris of course danced & sang his ass of to some our faves like ‘Love More ‘ Ayo ‘ , Poppin ‘ & ‘ Loyal ‘ but that wasn’t all he had in stores. Breezy decided to bring out special guest G-Unit ( 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks & Tony Yayo) which had the crowd going crazy only to then bring out French Montana. All of this was just a warm up for what was to come up next from rap star Fabolous.

Fab of course being from NYC had to make his show one to remember and trust me that’s exactly what he did. He kicked off his set bringing breezy back out to perform their single ‘ She Wildin ‘ but that was only the beginning of all star set. Fab took it back and brought out Bad Boy’s Black Rob to perform his classic hit ‘Whoa’ which of course gets the party hyped but just minutes later rap superstar Busta Rhymes appears on the stage performing one of his classic tracks ‘Put Your Hands Where My eyes Could See’ . Now that alone was fine but he brings back the remix to the classic MOP track ‘ Ante Up ‘ which led to Remy Ma blazing the stage with her voice from the song. Now the rap diva couldn’t just hit the stage without performing her classic track ‘Lean Back’ alongside Fat Joe who surprised the audience. The audience couldn’t get enough but there was more to come. Method Man & Redman hit the stage to perform the party starter track ‘ Da Rockwilder ‘ before Meth’s Wu-Tang partner Raekwon came out to perform the classic ‘ Ice Cream ‘ . The crowd just got more amped when queens own Mobb Deep hit the stage to perform ‘ Shook Ones ‘ but when Quiet Storm came on it was a wrap. Just when we thought they were done they brought out the Queen Bee Lil Kim who killed her verse before going into her first hit single ‘ Get Money ‘ . If you thought it was done well it wasn’t because she then brought out her Bad Boy fam The Lox who crushed the stage with a medley of their hits before Bad Boy’s own MA$E rushed the stage and dominated with some of his classics. Although the show was far from over it was clear Fab did not come to play this year with the best performance of the night.

Kendrick Lamar one of today’s biggest music stars brought Compton to NJ with his killer set of his fan favorite hits with special guest SZA & Schoolboy Q which just continued to proved why everyone loves him so much . Detroit’s own Big Sean was up next with and of course his set was jam packed with hits including our faves like ‘ My Last ‘ , ‘ Thats The Shit I Dont Like ‘ , ‘ Blessed ‘ & ‘ IDFWU ‘. The shows closer was Philly’s own Meek Mill who kicked of his show loud as always and brought out a few special guest including Future who had to rock the crowd with some of his hits including his latest hit single ‘ Fuck Up Some Commas‘ . Now we know that couldn’t of been all because minutes later his boo Rap Queen Nicki Minaj took the stage to perform some of her latest hits like ‘ Only ‘ and ‘ Truffle Butter ‘ . Meek def held his own which was a great way to close the night but the night clearly wasn’t over. Hot 97 decided to bring out New Jerseys own Fetty Wap once again but this time on the Main stage to rock the crowd with his hit singles. Now if you weren’t there than you should’ve been watching the live stream via Tidal . But if you didn’t catch it then for a limited time we have pics & video from the big must see event below. Trust me after watching you will see why this is the only concert to be at every year.
